NewsMaker Systems Announces New Products to Support the Latest NewTek Advanced Edition NDI IP Workflows

Moorpark, CA – March 12, 2016 - NewsMaker Systems, the provider of automation solutions to connect leading Newsroom Computer Systems to the TriCaster, today announced its support for the latest NewTek Advanced Edition NDI Network Device Interface (NDITM) standard for IP-based production workflows for its Connect, Control and Compose products. With NDI enabled, NewsMaker will recognize all sources by other NDI-enabled devices and systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network, exponentially increasing the number of video sources available for live production.

NewsMaker’s new for NAB 2016 Connect, Control and Compose products use the NDI protocol to include NDI enabled sources as direct feeds for any of the clips, graphics and audio that may be required in the TriCaster media bins. This means the entire NDI ecosystem of sources are now always available to NewsMaker automation for immediate use. This gives the operator instant access to all available NDI sources for playout to air with the TriCaster, all under complete control of NewsMaker automation.

This new standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of devices from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s open protocol allowing IP connectivity between devices. Customers using NewsCaster will be part of the NewTek Developer Network, the industry’s largest ecosystem of IP-enabled products using the same standard.

“When we approached NewTek with the concept of creating a seamless automation bridge between large scale news room computer systems and the TriCaster product line, their enthusiasm and support for NewsMaker have been nothing short of phenomenal,” said Dean Kolkey, President of NewsMaker Systems. “Now with NDI fully implemented, we have an entirely new set of tools and features to offer our mutual customers. NDI really changes the video over IP and networking game. NDI makes large scale video networking available to any market and any budget. This kind of forward thinking is another great example of what both NewsMaker and Newtek have always been about.”

“We are confident that IP workflows will revolutionize video production,” said Michael Kornet, executive vice president of Business Development for NewTek. “NewsMaker has been in the television news automation business for decades, and is highly respected both at NewTek and within the industry. By NewsMaker enthusiastically embracing NDI, best-of-breed products like NewsMaker’s Connect, Control and Compose will help make NDI the most widely adopted IP standard on the market that’s working and in the hands of customers today.”

NDI is now available as a royalty free software developer kit (SDK) for any company looking to establish IP workflows within their organization, or in production tools and systems they manufacture.
